Asia Lanka Social Development Cooperation (ALSDC), headquartered in the Kalutara District, is a key community partner in Sri Lanka's national effort to eliminate HIV/AIDS by 2025, in alignment with the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM). Operating under the National STD/AIDS Control Program, ALSDC delivers life-saving prevention, care, and referral services to high-risk populations, including Men who have Sex with Men (MSM), Female Sex Workers (FSW), and People Who Inject Drugs (PWID). Working across Kalutara and Colombo Districts, and in partnership with hospitals such as Nagoda, Panadura, and Horana, ALSDC implements a wide range of interventions: HIV self-testing and rapid testing, condom distribution, Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) awareness, STI education, and harm reduction programs. ALSDC also facilitates HIV awareness and care outreach through trained peer leaders, field-based testing, and hotspot mapping. Special attention is given to socially excluded and vulnerable groups empowering them with health knowledge, psychosocial support, and access to stigma-free healthcare. Through these efforts, ALSDC contributes directly to Sri Lanka’s National Strategic Plan for ending AIDS, while also promoting gender equality, LGBTIQ+ inclusion, and the right to health for all.
